Introduction

Gorbeast is a Dublin-based slam death metal band formed in 2023 by Jason Melia (Drummer) and Joe Smith (Vocalist). They quickly gained a following in the Dublin metal scene with their intense sound. The band’s second EP, “Virulent strains of Gangrenous secretion from Extirpated Cadavers,” was released in 2024, earning critical acclaim and a devoted following among metal fans worldwide. Gorbeast’s live shows are known for their energy and intensity, making them a force to be reckoned with in extreme music.

History Of Gorbeast

  • 2023 - Start Journey

    Gorbeast was formed in late 2023 by Jason Melia (Drummer) and Joe Smith (Vocalist), with the goal of creating a unique and powerful sound that would shake the local metal scene.

  • 2024 - First Album

    Gorbeast released the anticipated E.P called Virulent Strains Of Gangrenous Secretion From Extirpated Cadavers that evolves around diseases that kill and horrific politics.

  • 2024 - First Gig

    Gorbeast's first gig at Fibber Magees was a memorable one for both the band and the fans that were lucky enough to witness it. The band had been rehearsing tirelessly for weeks, perfecting their setlist and preparing to unleash their brutal sound on the Dublin metal scene. As the set progressed, Gorbeast continued to deliver a relentless barrage of heaviness, with tracks like "Flesh Feast" and "Rotten Entrails" leaving the audience in a state of euphoric chaos. By the time the band closed their set with "Devouring the Weak," the crowd was completely spent, having given everything they had to the band's intense performance.

Meet the members of Gorbeast, the Dublin-based slam death metal band known for their brutal and intense sound:

– Joseph Smith (vocals): As the frontman of Gorbeast, Joseph guttural vocals and intense stage presence are a defining characteristic of the band’s sound. He co-founded the band with drummer Jason Melia in 2023 and has been a driving force behind their rise to prominence in the Dublin metal scene.

– Paul Restve (guitar): Along with Jason, Paul is one of the founding members of Gorbeast. His shredding guitar riffs and technical prowess are a key component of the band’s sound, and his songwriting skills have helped shape Gorbeast’s unique style.

– Jay (drums):  Gorbeast, having joined the band in 2023. His powerful drumming and impeccable timing have helped solidify the band’s position as one of the most intense and exciting acts in the Irish metal scene.
